Eternal Night
Eternal Night
Shadoe Lass
I remember when all this began.
The dreams, and the love letters, and the motions.
I remember how it was always enough; never enough.
And now it's eternal night.
I remember "somewhere along the line
you lost me at hello."
It was the goodbye where you found me; I'm all alone.
And it's eternal night.
I remember.
What it is I remember I forget.
But what I can remember is this; I can remember that.
ETERNAL NIGHT.
Some of the things that cross my mind this week weave in and out of each other.
I started flying because I hated falling.
I watched people falling who hated that flight.
and falling and flying are the same thing...it's just a style.
I remember a time I wasn't around for.
and ignore everything that I have been.
I could only see myself in the shadows; In the darkness..
of eternal night.
I remember fire in so many places.
My mind, the sky, and now everywhere we look.
I think that I knew more when I knew less; I could see better blind.
In the eternal night.
I remember, as I always will.
and as I urge others to do.
Lest history repeat itself; lest you repeat yourself.
and enter eternal night.
Everything I feel is nothing new or original, just a revision of someone else's.
Some of the things that hurt don't matter
and some of the things that matter no longer hurt.
And still comes the eternal night.
Eternal as it always has, is, and will be...
and night regardless of how much you think you see.
